Product Description
What you see is what you get. The PKE were the guys checking passports and papers at border crossings. They were members of the Stasi but wore Grenztruppen shoulder boards and uniforms mostly. This particular uniform is unique to the PKE units and also Stasi personnel protection units and nobody else had them. I could not find any date markings in the jacket or the trousers or branch markings. All others I have had and seen of this type of uniform also had no markings.
Jacket - removable winter liner and size g50 for the liner and the jacket. An unusual in between size issued to these guys as they were directly in the public eye and uniforms had to be best fit.
Trousers - size k52 with small size label, indicating 1960s manufacture
Braces - marked NVA and dated 1967
Unpacked weight is about 3kg.
