rp001 - c1965/66 experimental 6 rivet East German M56 Stahlhelm steel helmet

No shell markings to be found, but I would think it is a shell size II. Several times repainted and would make a good refurb project. Adjustable later liner. Unpacked weight is about 1.37kg. What you see is what you get. 

When the new liner was decided on they had to come up with a way of fixing it in the helmet. The idea they came up with was to put the 6 rivets needed straight through the helmet. They tried it out on old and new helmets. Eventually it was decided to electro weld the liner fixings directly to the inside of the helmet without any rivets. Before this experimentation with the new liners there were only three rivet helmets.
