Preface Volume 4 The fourth and last volume of our book series about the various edged weapons of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) is now finished. We have again researched the presentation daggers of the government and talked to employees who were involved in the manufacture at that time. Furthermore, there are new findings on the General/Admirals daggers with the rare R XXX dagger number. An undoubted original flame shaped dagger is shown and described. We can present even very rare officers tunics from rare units, with uniforms, medals, documents, and the daggers. At the end of our book series, we look to the current market prices of the individual daggers as well as the boxes and dagger hangers. We have revised the list of particular dagger patterns and their verifiable carriers, as well as the list of officer daggers and the associated acceptance or output years. At the end of our book, a complete translation in English for our collector friends, who are distributed over the entire world.
